Titus 2:11-14 (NLT)...

FROM TODAY'S READING (5/13/2014)...

"The field was a cornfield, or what had recently been a cornfield. Asphalt strips of pavement wound through it now, and tract houses in which people sat and watched TV, ate corn flakes for breakfast, and slipped a frozen pizza into a microwave when they got seriously hungry. They left these houses for several hours every day to make what they call 'a living.' What they make, in fact, is money. It is the only thing they make...it is not easy to believe in God and live a life of passion in the middle of a cornfield overlaid with asphalt."
- Eugene H. Peterson (Under The Unpredictable Plant, p. 48)

Titus 2:11-14 (NLT) For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, while we look forward with hope to that wonderful day when the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, will be revealed. He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds.
