FROM TODAY’S READING (11/14/2019)...

Psalm 90:12 (NLT)...

FROM TODAY’S READING (11/13/2019)...

“It is only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth and that we have no way of knowing when our time is up that we will begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it were the only one we had”
St Augustine

Psalms‬ ‭90:12‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.

Ephesians‬ ‭5:15-17‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.

Luke 5:1-4 (NLT)...

FROM TODAY’S READING (11/12/2019)...

“You can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water.”
Rabindranath Tagore

Luke‬ ‭5:1-4‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God. He noticed two empty boats at the water’s edge, for the fishermen had left them and were washing their nets. Stepping into one of the boats, Jesus asked Simon, its owner, to push it out into the water. So he sat in the boat and taught the crowds from there.
When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Now go out where it is deeper, and let down your nets to catch some fish.”

1 Peter 4:16 (NLT)...

FROM TODAY’S READING (11/8/2019)...

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not shouting, “I’ve been saved!”
I’m whispering, “I get lost!
That’s why I chose this way.”

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I don’t speak with human pride,
I’m confessing that I stumble –
Needing God to be my guide.

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not trying to be strong,
I’m professing that I’m weak
And pray for strength to carry on.

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not bragging of success,
I’m admitting that I’ve failed
And cannot ever pay the debt.

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I don’t think I know it all,
I submit to my confusion
Asking humbly to be taught.

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I’m not claiming to be perfect,
My flaws are all too visible
But God believes I’m worth it.

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I still feel the sting of pain,
I have my share of heartache,
Which is why I seek His name.

When I say, “I am a Christian”
I do not wish to judge,
I have no authority…
I only know I’m loved
by Carol Wimmer

1 Peter‬ ‭4:16‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) But it is no shame to suffer for being a Christian. Praise God for the privilege of being called by his name!

Ephesians 2:8-10 (NLT)...

FROM TODAY’S READING (11/7/2019)...

"The older I get, the less concern I have with what I have or have not done and the more concern I have for what I have or have not become."
An Older Pastor

Ephesians‬ ‭2:8-10‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Galatians 6:9 (NLT)...

FROM TODAY’S READING (11/6/2019)...

“Perseverance is the hard work you do after you get tired of doing the hard work you already did."
Newt Gingrich

Galatians‬ ‭6:9‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.

Genesis 9:12-16 (NLT)...

FROM TODAY’S READING (11/5/2019)...

“May God give you...For every storm a rainbow, for every tear a smile, for every care a promise and a blessing in each trial. For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share, for every sigh a sweet song and an answer for each prayer.”
An Irish Saying

Genesis‬ ‭9:12-16‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Then God said, “I am giving you a sign of my covenant with you and with all living creatures, for all generations to come. I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is the sign of my covenant with you and with all the earth. When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will appear in the clouds, and I will remember my covenant with you and with all living creatures. Never again will the floodwaters destroy all life. When I see the rainbow in the clouds, I will remember the eternal covenant between God and every living creature on earth.”

Numbers‬ ‭6:24-26‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you his favor and give you his peace.

Deuteronomy 4:9 (NLT)...

FROM TODAY’S READING (11/4/2019)...

Our past, mistakes as well as worthwhile accomplishments, is like a car’s rear-view mirror. While driving, we use the broad view through the windshield as we move ahead, but we also use the mirror for reference, making quick, periodic glances into it for information to aid in making driving decisions. Although we cannot effectively or safely move ahead by staring only into the mirror and ignoring the view from the windshield, proper use of the mirror does insure a safer, smoother trip to our destination.

In the same way, we are not to dwell on the past, but live by using the lessons of the past as a reference to aid our journey into the future.

Deuteronomy‬ ‭4:9‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live!...
