Psalm 27:14 (NLT)...

FROM TODAY’S READING (12/9/2019)...

AND GOD SAID NO!

I asked God to take away my pride, and God said "NO".
He said it was not for Him to take away, but for me to give up.

I asked God to make my handicapped child whole, and God said "NO".
He said her spirit is whole, her body is only temporary.

I asked God to grant me patience, and God said "NO".
He said that patience is a by-product of tribulation,
it isn't granted, it's earned.

I asked God to give me happiness, and God said "NO".
He said He gives blessings, happiness is up to me.

I asked God to spare me pain, and God said "NO".
He said suffering draws you apart from worldly cares
and brings yo closer to me.

I asked God to make my spirit grow, and He said "NO".
He said I must grow on my own, but He will prune me to make me fruitful.

I asked God to help me love others as much as He loves me,
And God said "Ah, finally you have the idea"!

Psalms‬ ‭27:14 (NLT) Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.
‭‭
Psalms‬ ‭33:20-22‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) We put our hope in the Lord. He is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. Let your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in you alone.

James 1:22-25 (NLT)...

FROM TODAY’S READING (12/6/2019)...

“We want a god who gives us life, but not one who tells us how to live it.”
Pastor Wayne Bray (First Baptist Church, Simpsonville, SC)

James‬ ‭1:22-25‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves. For if you listen to the word and don’t obey, it is like glancing at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it.

Daniel 11:32-33a (NLT)...

FROM TODAY’S READING (12/5/2019)...

“The gutsiest people in the world are the ones who know their God, whose God is the Lord...In a time when evil rules the day, the wise are desperately needed.”
Kris Langham

NOTE: This Daniel passage makes historic reference to the Greek King Antiochus lV Epiphanies and prophetic reference to a coming world leader referenced as Antichrist in Scripture (2 Thessalonians 2).

Daniel‬ ‭11:32‬-33a (NLT‬‬) He will flatter and win over those who have violated the covenant. But the people who know their God will be strong and will resist him. Wise leaders will give instruction to many...

2 Thessalonians‬ ‭2:15-17‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) With all these things in mind, dear brothers and sisters, stand firm and keep a strong grip on the teaching we passed on to you both in person and by letter.
Now may our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal comfort and a wonderful hope, comfort you and strengthen you in every good thing you do and say.

Psalm 1:1-2 (NLT)...

FROM TODAY’S READING (12/2/2019)...

“Our minds are God’s invention...they’re his creation. When we meditate we trust God to help our minds to grasp, unpackage and unravel the truth of God’s Word. A truly happy person is shaped by the Word, not colored by the world.”
Pastor Sandy Adams

Psalms‬ ‭1:1-2‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night.

‭Psalms‬ ‭19:14‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
