FROM TODAY'S READING (10/5/2016)...
"My goodness...the pain of this [experience] is intentional. It is designed by God to mark off the stages of life. Maybe it's to look back and congratulate ourselves on some jobs well done that we have now completed. Maybe it's to take account of what lies ahead with a proper and accurate understanding of how much of life has slipped behind us. The sadness is a gift from God to show us what has been accomplished, not so much to show us what has come to an end."
