FROM TODAY’S READING (3/20/2019)...
“I like their energy and I like their enthusiasm and I like the fact that they are confident. But it can tip over into arrogance, and arrogance can tip over into sloppiness and negligence.”
Marcus Lemonis (“The Profit”)
1 Samuel 2:3 (NLT) Stop acting so proud and haughty! Don’t speak with such arrogance! For the Lord is a God who knows what you have done; he will judge your actions.
Proverbs 27:1-2 (NLT) Don’t brag about tomorrow, since you don’t know what the day will bring. Let someone else praise you, not your own mouth— a stranger, not your own lips.
Proverbs 16:18 (NLT) Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall.
Philippians 2:3-5 (NLT) Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
