Matthew 2:1-2 (ESV)

 FROM TODAY’S READING (12/14/2020)...

CHRISTMAS THOT...

“A thousand times in history a baby has become a king, but only once in history did a King become a baby.”

Derric Johnson

Matthew‬ ‭2:1-2‬ ‭(ESV‬‬) Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

Isaiah‬ ‭9:6-7‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!

1 John‬ ‭4:9-10‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.
