John‬ ‭14‬:‭27‬-‭28‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

FROM TODAY'S READING...

I don't know about tomorrow,

I just live from day to day.

I don't borrow from its sunshine,

For its skies may turn to gray.

I don't worry o'er the future,

For I know what Jesus said,

And today I'll walk beside Him,

For He knows what is ahead.

Many things about tomorrow,

I don't seem to understand;

But I know who holds tomorrow,

And I know who holds my hand.

Ira F. Stanfill (1914-1993)

John‬ ‭14‬:‭27‬-‭28‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. Remember what I told you: I am going away, but I will come back to you again. If you really loved me, you would be happy that I am going to the Father, who is greater than I am.

Jesus Christ

John‬ ‭16‬:‭33‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.

Jesus Christ

‭‭2 Thessalonians‬ ‭3‬:‭16‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Now may the Lord of peace himself give you his peace at all times and in every situation. The Lord be with you all.

Apostle Paul

Proverbs 14:29 (NLT)

FROM TODAY'S READING...

"...we need to decide...when you get angry, do you want to make a point, or do you want to make a difference?"

Pastor Craig Groeschel

Life Church

Proverbs‬ ‭14‬:‭29‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness.

Proverbs‬ ‭19‬:‭11‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Sensible people control their temper; they earn respect by overlooking wrongs.

Proverbs‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Fools vent their anger, but the wise quietly hold it back.

‭‭

Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭8‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper— it only leads to harm.

Ecclesiastes‬ ‭7‬:‭9‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Control your temper, for anger labels you a fool.

James‬ ‭1‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires.

Romans‬ ‭11‬:‭33‬-‭36‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

FROM TODAY'S READING...

"God has no problems, only plans. There is never panic in heaven."

Corrie ten Boom (1892-1983)

Romans‬ ‭11‬:‭33‬-‭36‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways! For who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice? And who has given him so much that he needs to pay it back? For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.

Isaiah‬ ‭40‬:‭28‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding.

Isaiah‬ ‭46‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish.

Proverbs‬ ‭19‬:‭21‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) You can make many plans, but the Lord’s purpose will prevail.

Hebrews‬ ‭13‬:‭8‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

1 Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭23‬-‭29‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

1 Corinthians‬ ‭11‬:‭23‬-‭29‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) For I pass on to you what I received from the Lord himself. On the night when he was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then he broke it in pieces and said, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, he took the cup of wine after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant between God and his people—an agreement confirmed with my blood. Do this in remembrance of me as often as you drink it.” For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord’s death until he comes again.

So anyone who eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord unworthily is guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. That is why you should examine yourself before eating the bread and drinking the cup. For if you eat the bread or drink the cup without honoring the body of Christ, you are eating and drinking God’s judgment upon yourself.

Apostle Paul

Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭7‬-‭8‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit.

‭‭

Psalms‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Oh, the joys of those who do not follow the advice of the wicked, or stand around with sinners, or join in with mockers. But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night.

2 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭3‬ ‭(NLT‬) Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires.

Jude‬ ‭1‬:‭17‬-‭19‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) But you, my dear friends, must remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ predicted. They told you that in the last times there would be scoffers whose purpose in life is to satisfy their ungodly desires. These people are the ones who are creating divisions among you. They follow their natural instincts because they do not have God’s Spirit in them.

Matthew‬ ‭20‬:‭25‬-‭28‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

FROM TODAY'S READING...

“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can and as long as you can.”

John Wesley (1703-1791)

English theologian and evangelist

Matthew‬ ‭20‬:‭25‬-‭28‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) But Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers in this world Lord it over their people, and officials flaunt their authority over those under them. But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

‭‭

1 Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another...Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ. All glory and power to him forever and ever! Amen.

Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭3‬-‭5‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.

You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.

Proverbs‬ ‭21‬:‭21‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

FROM TODAY'S READING...

"Our ultimate aim in life is not to be healthy, wealthy, prosperous, or problem free. Our ultimate aim in life is to bring glory to God."

Anne Graham Lotz

Proverbs‬ ‭21‬:‭21‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love will find life, righteousness, and honor.

1 Corinthians‬ ‭6‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭31‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

FROM TODAY'S READING...

"How you live your life is a testimony to what you believe about God."

Henry Blackaby (1935-2024)

1 Peter‬ ‭2‬:‭11‬-‭12‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Dear friends, I warn you as “temporary residents and foreigners” to keep away from worldly desires that wage war against your very souls. Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior, and they will give honor to God when he judges the world.

Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭23‬-‭24‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.

Luke‬ ‭22:39-40, 45-46‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

FROM TODAY'S READING...

“Prayerful waiting is the secret of not succumbing to temptation…But so often we miss the “way out” because we are asleep!”

R. Kent Hughes

Luke‬ ‭22:39-40, 45-46‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Then, accompanied by the disciples, Jesus left the upstairs room and went as usual to the Mount of Olives. There he told them, “Pray that you will not give in to temptation.”

At last he stood up again and returned to the disciples, only to find them asleep, exhausted from grief. “Why are you sleeping?” he asked them. “Get up and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation.”

1 Corinthians‬ ‭10:12-13‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

Deuteronomy‬ ‭31‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

Lawrence O. Richards (1931-2016)

The 365 Day Devotional Commentary

Deuteronomy‬ ‭31‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) When Moses had finished giving these instructions to all the people of Israel, he said, “I am now 120 years old, and I am no longer able to lead you. The Lord has told me, 'You will not cross the Jordan River.'"

2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭(NLT‬‬)

FROM TODAY'S READING...

“If we find ourselves with a desire that nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that we were made for another world.”

C. S. Lewis (1898-1963)

2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭1‬-‭2‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing.

Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭20‬-‭21‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior. He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.

Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. And when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory.
