Acts 4:13 (NLT)

FROM TODAY’S READING (3/15/2022)…

“God can achieve his purpose either through the absence of human power and resources, or the abandonment of reliance on them. All through history God has chosen and used nobodies, because their unusual dependence on him made possible the unique display of his power and grace. He chose and used somebodies only when they renounced dependence on their natural abilities and resources.”

Oswald Chambers (1874-1917)

Scottish Baptist evangelist and teacher

Author of “My Utmost For His Highest”

Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.

‭‭

1 Corinthians‬ ‭1:26-29‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Remember, dear brothers and sisters, that few of you were wise in the world’s eyes or powerful or wealthy when God called you. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all, and used them to bring to nothing what the world considers important. As a result, no one can ever boast in the presence of God.
