FROM TODAY'S READING...
NOTE: Barlow North (1810-1875) was born into an upperclass English family and lived a self-indulgent life. At age forty-five he suffered a major health scare that led to his making a sincere commitment to Jesus Christ. The rest of his life was dedicated to preaching and evangelism. He was described as the John the Baptist of the great awakening.
The upcoming FTR quotes are from Barlow North's "Six Short Rules For Christians"...
#4: If you are in doubt as to a thing being right or wrong, go to your room and kneel down and ask God’s blessing on it. If you cannot do this, it is wrong.
Colossians 3:17 (NLT) And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father.
Psalms 37:23 (NLT) The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
