NOTE: Barlow North (1810-1875) was born into an upperclass English family and lived a self-indulgent life. At age forty-five he suffered a major health scare that led to his making a sincere commitment to Jesus Christ. The rest of his life was dedicated to preaching and evangelism. He was described as the John the Baptist of the great awakening.

#5: Never take your Christianity from Christians, or argue that because such and such people do so and so, therefore, you may. You are to ask yourself, "How would Christ act in my place?" And strive to follow Him.
