Psalm 118:8 (NLT)

FROM TODAY'S READING...

NOTE: Barlow North (1810-1875) was born into an upperclass English family and lived a self-indulgent life. At age forty-five he suffered a major health scare that led to his making a sincere commitment to Jesus Christ. The rest of his life was dedicated to preaching and evangelism. He was described as the John the Baptist of the great awakening.

The upcoming FTR quotes are from Barlow North's "Six Short Rules For Christians"...

#5: Never take your Christianity from Christians, or argue that because such and such people do so and so, therefore, you may. You are to ask yourself, "How would Christ act in my place?" And strive to follow Him.

Exodus‬ ‭23‬:‭2‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) You must not follow the crowd in doing wrong. When you are called to testify in a dispute, do not be swayed by the crowd to twist justice.

‭‭

Psalms‬ ‭118‬:‭8‬ ‭(NKJV‬‬) It is better to trust in the Lord Than to put confidence in man.

‭‭

Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

‭‭

Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭9‬-‭10‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.
