Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)

FROM TODAY'S READING...

NOTE: Barlow North (1810-1875) was born into an upperclass English family and lived a self-indulgent life. At age forty-five he suffered a major health scare that led to his making a sincere commitment to Jesus Christ. The rest of his life was dedicated to preaching and evangelism. He was described as the John the Baptist of the great awakening.

This last FTR quote comes from Barlow North's "Six Short Rules For Christians"...

#6: Never believe what you feel, if it contradicts God’s Word. Ask yourself, "Can what I feel be true if God’s Word is true?" And if both cannot be true, believe God and make your own heart the liar.

Proverbs‬ ‭28‬:‭26‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Those who trust their own insight are foolish, but anyone who walks in wisdom is safe.

Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬-‭7‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the Lord and turn away from evil.

‭‭

Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬-‭7‬ ‭(NLT‬‬) Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
